The Proper Pointer Co. puppies are $1,750.00-$2,250.00. Your Proper Pointer will go home microchipped through AKC Reunite and will have been cared for with intensive care and socialization with other dogs as well as our own family members. We have a great relationship with Martin Veterinary Services and your puppy will have had (2) two vet checks along with tails docked and dew claws removed. They also will go home with their first round of vaccinations and deworming with Panacur that gives them protection across the whole spectrum of parasites.

If you decide that you are interested in one of our pups for your own, and you have read and agreed to all the terms listed in the Health Guarantee & Contract, your next step would be making a deposit to secure your baby boy, girl or for some families; both 🙂

At The Proper Pointer Co., we like to keep the process simple and stress-free. Once you’ve reviewed and agreed to our Contract & Health Guarantee, you can reserve your puppy with a $750 non-refundable deposit, conveniently paid using any major credit or debit card. While deposits are non-refundable, they are fully transferable—meaning you’re welcome to apply your deposit toward a future litter if needed. Your deposit will be applied to the total purchase price, with the remaining balance due at pickup.

At The Proper Pointer Co., we completely understand the excitement of wanting to have “first pick” of the litter—each puppy is so special, it’s hard not to want them all! To keep the process fair and organized, we’ve created a simple waiting list system based on the order in which deposits are received. This ensures that each family has a clear place in line when it comes time to make their selection. Once deposits begin coming in, the first deposit secures first choice, the second secures second choice, and so on.

Puppy selections begin at around three weeks of age, once their unique markings start to take shape. German Shorthaired Pointers’ colors and patterns can change quite a bit in those early weeks, and waiting allows you to get a better sense of how your Proper Pointer will look as they grow—though we can’t guarantee how markings will continue to develop.

For the health and safety of our puppies, we do not allow in-person visits during this early stage. At three weeks, puppies are highly vulnerable to illnesses such as the Parvo virus, which can be devastating to an entire litter. To protect them, we offer FaceTime sessions, detailed photos, and video updates to help you feel confident and connected throughout the selection process.

Once you’ve chosen your puppy and placed your deposit, you’ll receive weekly photo and video updates through our Facebook and Instagram pages, so you can watch your little one grow and develop until the exciting day you finally bring your Proper Pointer home!

We understand that travel plans don’t always line up perfectly with your puppy’s go-home date, and we’re here to help make the transition as smooth as possible. If you need a little extra time before bringing your puppy home, you’re welcome to board your puppy with us for $40 per night after go-home day. Your Proper Pointer will continue receiving the same attentive care in a safe, structured environment until you’re ready for pickup.

Our goal is always to ensure your puppy’s journey home is convenient, stress-free, and handled with the highest level of care. Please reach out in advance to arrange extended boarding so we can reserve your puppy’s stay.

If delivery is needed, please contact us with details and we may try to work out an appointed location within reason if it is a viable option or we may consider farther locations for an appropriate. This option is on an individual basis and may not be available at all times and for all situations. However, we are willing to help in any way we can.

The safety and comfort of our puppies always come first. For that reason, we no longer offer the option to “ship” puppies as cargo. Instead, we’re happy to personally meet you at the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport (GSP) in Greenville, SC at no additional charge. A small boarding fee may apply if we need to accommodate a specific flight schedules (see Extended Stay Policy above).

We’re also glad to arrange airport meetups at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in Charlotte, NC or Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) in Atlanta, GA for a $250 travel fee. You’ll be responsible for your own airfare to these locations, and the great news is that your Proper Pointer can typically travel in the cabin with you for the journey home—ensuring a safe, comfortable start to your new life together.
